Totoaba

The totoaba is a Critically Endangered species of fish only found in a small area of Baja California. All fishing and trade is banned, but a totoaba swim bladder sells for over US$15,000 in China, where it is used for traditional medicine, so a lot of people ignore the rules. People catch the fish, remove the swim bladder and throw the body back, which means that they wash up on the beach a lot.
