Day 235/17. Waiting.....a Venus Fly Trap

A souvenir of our trip to Kew Gardens on Saturday. I wonder how long I can keep it alive? I have a poor record of keeping plants myself.
The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula), is a carniverous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the east coast of the Unites States in North Carolina and South Carolina. It catches its prey—chiefly insects and spiders—with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves, which is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces.
You can see the trigger hairs in my picture.
