Small tortoiseshell butterfly, dear,
You're the first that I've spotted this year.
It's late August, it seems,
'fore you answer my dreams
When, at last, little one, you appear.

Thanks for all your kind comments. Feeling a lot better today, thank you. In fact, I spent all morning gardening and was rewarded with this new arrival. It wouldn't land anywhere pretty to be photographed, but no less welcome for that.
