Esk Pike and Bow Fell

Today's U3A walk started from the Old Dungeon Ghyll and took us up Mickleden and Rossett Ghyll, past Angle Tarn to Esk Hause and onto the summits of Esk Pike and Bow Fell. We descended to Three Tarns and then down the Band and back to the ODG. Well before Angle Tarn the views were lost in the clouds and rain apart from a few fleeting glimpses caused by small breaks in the cloud. Fortunately I turned around on the way up to Angle Tarn to catch Pike O'Stickle bathed in sunshine. The extra which features Poppy  is more redolent of the conditions experienced today.
