NICE SURPRISE!

Had to repair a rather lovely little classical guitar this week.

This rather sheepish guy came into the shop... He confessed that he'd received it from his girlfriend for a birthday - he loved it & played like mad for a week - then he dropped it producing an alarming crack in the table.

Put three little taquets (thin spruce rectangles) under the crack to hold the two sides level & rubbed Titebond (good wood glue) into the crack. Cleaned it all off & varnished yesterday. Today I finished it off with 000 steel wool & if you didn't know exactly where to look you wouldn't know where is was!

The guitar is the brain child of the Finnish luthier, Kauko Liikanen - well done him! The sound is great & the price is most honest.
