Winchester Reflections

Reflective
- Providing a reflection; capable of reflecting light or other radiation as in "reflective glass"
- Relating to or characterized by deep thought; thoughtful as in "a quiet, reflective, astute man"

So after 3 consecutive 10 hours days (not including the 55 minute each way commute up and down the M3), I thought I'd earned my early finish today, and escaped the office by mid-afternoon to head into Winchester in search of ideas for Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday challenge.

As I wandered around the streets of this ancient city, with its medieval and earlier buildings merging into buildings from the Victorian age to the present day, I came across this display window which seemed to match the first definition of today's challenge perfectly.

Look closely and you may see see objects normally found in Victorian or Edwardian bathrooms, overseen by a mosiac panel from Roman Britain. This juxtaposition of objects, and the history in the streets all around, gives pause for thought about the stories that could be told - which perhaps goes someway to the second definition.
