Was It Really So Long Ago

Sheep Pond Lane

A mile or so along this lane is the Crest holiday house, where we've spent a couple of weeks on holiday in Hampshire. A mile or two in the opposite direction lies Dundridge and the Hampshire Bowman, established in the 1700's as a coaching inn, due to its proximity to a steep hill and the horses requiring rest.

All in all, today's walk was short at only 5 miles. I seem to have injured my right ankle which has swelled and is occasionally painful. Rather than continuing on towards Bishop's Waltham and its palace, I remained at the pub, read another chapter (Sixteen Trees of the Somme, by Lars Mytting) and had another Swift One (yes that was its name), brewed in Droxford to where I must return!
