Andrena marginata...

the small Scabious mining bees, one of the rarest bees in the WORLD! We spent the whole day lying around a quarry and surrounding fields, watching them gathering pollen, (the white on their legs) and digging tiny holes to deposit it. We even videoed it! 
We were surveying only the second site in Strathspey and one of only three sites in Scotland!
Six of us had a great time, believe it or not!!!!
