CannyScot's Day

Cactus Golden Ball

A dull day with showers.

I had a lunch meeting at the Botanic Gardens Cafe with my Supervisor from the Listening Service and afterwards I popped in to the hothouse to take a few photos. This one of the Cactus ball intrigued me - apparently it is called Echinocactus grusonii. It is popularly known as  the golden barrel cactus, golden ball or, amusingly, mother-in-law's cushion and is endemic to east-central Mexico.

For those who know me well, I have completely recovered from my bout of cellulitis and feel much better.
