A New Day

Dunning Witch

Our turn again for the lovely warm sunny weather, so our drive took us into the Perthshire hills where we stopped for a lovely lunch at the oddly named Broadslap Farm (strawberry tarts to die for!)

Then it was on through Dunning and this rather sad memorial which stands on a small hill just outside the town.  Nobody knows who Maggie Wall was or even if she ever really existed, but it is a poignant reminder of a very black time in our history.

The road took us through Crieff and up through the Sma' Glen where the hills were covered with beautiful purple heather (see Extra) before coming home via Dunkeld, where there was a fête taking place and nowhere to park, so we didn't pop in to see our friends who have just returned from a river cruise in Germany.  Another time!

A few spots of rain on the way back, but they soon passed and it's a lovely evening now.  Hope your day has been sunny too:-)
