Our changing High Street

Alarmed to see that Something Special, one of my favourite shops in Bridge of allan is closing.
 
 
So I had a chat with one of the assistants to find out why. Well it’s a familiar story: young people no longer send cards - it's all texting on smartphones- and if they want gifts they don't have time to shop because of work so they go online.
 
In the couple of minutes I stood outside to get a photo confirmed it.
Only older people went in.
The rest walked on by.
 

The shop will re-open as a hardware store. So that's good news. At least it's not another cafe, hairdressers or charity shop.
