Port Mulgrave

185 million years of Jurassic cliffs surround this jewel that a hundred years ago bade farewell to the ironstone business it had overseen.

We walked around the beach with the sea at super low tide and used the rope to climb out of the bay due to a recent cliff slide that destroyed the old steps. Flora was brilliant.

Later in the glorious Ship Inn we discovered the new steps have in fact been built but are not yet officially open. They await public use just hidden away behind the arduous rope escape route.

There's a lesson there somewhere!
