Swatches

After work this morning we popped to visit Aunitie Lila in Newcastle.  At 95 she had her cataract removed on Wednesday.  She lives independently but is unable to put her own post op drops into her eye. There have been a few issues with the District Nurse visits so we popped to see her early morning and see how she was doing.  Her eye is looking great but she is clearly tired and looking frail.

This afternoon I popped to Hexham to visit the soft furnishings shop to collect several books of swatches of material for a new blind for the lounge.  The current blind and curtains are made of silk, which wasn't a good idea in a window which receives so much sun.  The blind is gradually perishing and has become quite faded.  We've had various swatch books on loan to help us find a fabric and colour which we like and matches the curtains and suite.  I think finally we have found something we like in a price range which is reasonable!  Hope to get it ordered next week and have it hung before the shorter days arrive.  The side view of the book of swatches made a good blip I thought!
