Fyvie Castle

We decided to get out of town today to avoid the big half marathon that was taking place today . I'd have really really wanted to do it but in all honesty am not fit enough and doubt my knees would have stood up to it . 
Making further use of our NTS card we therfore  went out to the splendid Fyvie Castle for a wander around the grounds ( a nice walled garden / lochside walk ) and a look around the castle . 
The day got better when we discovered a good new place for cake and coffee on the way home at Udny  - the Coffee Apothecary  . Well worth a visit .
