Plenty of photos taken around Knutsford today, including some very early morning shots around town, but they all looked totally washed-out and wet, and it never stopped raining all day basically.

Finally popped out again at 9:00 tonight to meet friend Malcolm and discuss some mutual business ideas of over a pint. A very pleasant evening distraction, but still no photocall opportunities. On the way home the only colour to be seen was literally glowing in the McLaren showroom. Here, the MP4-12C is a snip at £220,404 (curious to know what the £4 is for). According to subsequent research, in 2011 on BBC Top Gear, the car set the second fastest lap ever on the Top Gear Track, with a time of 1:16.2.

Not sure I ever get the whole 'Top Gear' thing, even if I had the money, but there is no doubting that in the current climate (economically and meteorologically speaking), this is a much needed ray of sunshine. Would I swap it with my 5 year old Renault Megane with 120,000 miles on the clock? Actually, probably not, but I'd certainly take the money and run.

Postscript: Talking dirty, the car has a carbon fibre composite chassis, weighing only 80 kg. It is powered by a mid-mounted McLaren M838T 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine developing 592 brake horse power and around 443 lb·ft of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
