Thank You For the Days ..

Resting Place

TM and I had a good hike today. We set out from St Boswells and walked beside the Tweed, crossed at Mertoun Bridge, and followed the river back upstream to Dryburgh Abbey, where we sat and rested our legs and contemplated the last resting place of Sir Walter Scott and Earl Hague.

Then we crossed the river again and made our way along a rather narrow track in the midst of the trees. Just as I was beginning to think we'd missed our turn off and would end up in Kelso, the roofs of St Boswells appeared. It was only five miles, but we are both collapsed on the sofa now. We must do it more often!
