Amaxing Nature

A lovely Bank holiday wail with Jo to the country park created on the site of the old Desford Mine. 25 years since the last coal came to the surface and with a little help nature has taken the area fully back apart from a few areas of open scree there is no sign of the former mine, what there is: is a huge abundance of fauna and flora. On one of the lakes we were treated to the sight of swallows swooping down to drink it made or a great photography challenge. I managed to nail a few and the extras are of another  swallow and a flowering teasel. We had never seen such a thing before (swallows diving in the water) and made us both realise just how wonderful our world is despite our best efforts at times to totally ruin it :).
