Winter Feed

Silage baling is well underway in the fields round about just now.  It's an important crop as the cattle are inside for more than 6 months of the year, and it is their main feed. It's fed to sheep and horses too.

Up on the cliffs this chap was working all day, trying to get it done before the rain came.  A dull and overcast day, but very warm and muggy and flat calm.  Not what we are used to!  The midges were out in force too - I was fine mowing the grass, but weeding and gardening was too sedentary and they really went for me!
