Bromelaid

This Aechmea is certainly NOT growing in my garden. I've seen them many times in the glasshouses in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens but this spiky beauty is growing in the Winter Gardens attached to the People's Palace in Glasgow Green.

The Winter Gardens is a large area which is often used for wedding receptions but mostly it's a good cafe and a glasshouse which is full of exotic palms and plants.
