Daytrip

Having seen LH off to the 0745 ferry I'd got quite a few jobs done by the time Dad emerged for breakfast. So, after my usual Mon meditate we decided to zip off to Yesnaby, admire The Old Man and then do lunch in Stromness. Great plan with sun and balmy wind in S Ron but a different climate altogether at the other end of Mainland! We managed about 40 yds fighting the wind and his 2 walking sticks, looked at each other, jumped back in the car (fought the car doors and driving mizzle) and went to Julia's. The blip of the old man looking at The Old Man (of Hoy) will have to wait.
Sun came out so we drove it to the Ness and saw at least 5 dive boats coming in at once. Wonder where they've all been today - quite a convoy. Dad can see a lot better through binoculars and enjoyed scanning for boats.
LH arrived safely at overnight stop in Glasgow. Lovely daughter and boyfriend back home now from long weekend away in Carcassonne - had a nice break and sunshine, thank goodness :-)
Weather turned showery back in S Ron with some dramatic skies over Hoy way.
Extras: Stromness; evening showers
