The Falcon at Arncliffe

Out in the Dales again for a good walk with friends Sylvia and Malcolm.

This at the starting point, where the Landlord (now retired had something of a grumpy reputation) and still served the ale from a jug from a keg under the bar (non of the fancy modern pumps here). Showed strong willpower to pass on by without checking that the beer is still served this way.

Brilliant walk over Monk's Path over to Malham Tarn and return to Kilnsey via Mastiles Lane and the site of a Roman marching camp. Great walk, great scenery and great company.

As an extra, a sign to Smearbottoms Lane - don't we have such wonderful names in this Country.

And the beauty of Mastiles Lane
