Dymchurch

We took Doreen out for afternoon tea at Lathe Barn, Donkey Street on Romney Marsh after which we pushed her along the seafront at Dymchurch for a mile or so in the warm sea air.

For a change the tide was in, the sands were full of holidaymakers and the aroma of fish and chips was in the air (as well as the less pleasant aroma of smokey barbecues). What is it about fish and chips? We'd had a good lunch and a scone with the tea, what is the allure of fish and chips? We resisted the temptation and that of an ice cream too.

The light down on the coast was forever changing as the sun disappeared behind clouds, reappeared, haze lifted and came down again. The water was almost flat calm and reflective. We had a paddle but I never thought to have brought my swimming stuff, it would have been lovely to go in.
