Hummingbird Encounter

The weather was perfect this morning so I was anxious to get out to a garden.  I was delighted to be greeted by this Ruby-throated Hummingbird. She literally came within a foot of me, and hovered directly in front of my face.  I felt like we shared a moment as I stood perfectly still, holding my breath.  She then had breakfast on the Lion's Ear plant, an usual shrub with tiers of bee balm-like orange flowers.  Nature is truly breathtaking at times.
