What a difference 20 years makes!

And 31 years if you look at the extras.
The main blip photograph shows Johanna, Julia (middle) and Daniel on Christmas Day 1997.
Johanna is 12, Julia 11, Daniel 20, we'd only been in this house for one year, exactly as we'd moved in officially on Christmas Day 1996. We had the keys a week before but we wanted to get bedrooms ready for the children to move into and we brought them to the house on Christmas Day.

Johanna, who will be 32 in October, is the one that got married nearly 3 weeks ago and wanted to borrow a video player/recorder and my gadgety thing to transfer video tape to digital so they can burn DVD's of Lukes family videos. We watched some of Lukes films from when he was 4 and 5 years old, so funny to watch it from so long ago.
Of course, we had to dig our tapes out from the attic and watched some video of Johanna at 1, Julia at pretty much new, and Daniel at 8.
The two extras are one of Johanna (goodness, she was naughty. Never did anything she was told, especially if it was me telling her), and Julia who was so fat as a baby we called her the Slug! She is the slimmest and fittest of all of us now, puts us to shame and we are very proud of all of them.

P.S. for my younger readers - see that little black box,  with the white label,  in the bottom right hand corner? That is a Video Tape. Yes, a tape of magnetic properties that could record video and audio and be played back again and again, until it wore out or got snagged in the video player!!
For the older readers - We invested in Sony's Betamax, a far superior system which for some reason was beaten in the market by VHS. We had to transfer all the Beta to VHS using two video recorders and now have to digitise them. Each time they lose quality of course.
