Saved by a tui

A very pleasant morning spent with blipmate at the Motueka channel mouth photographing the gannets that were flying up and down, diving and catching fish- along with every other seabird imaginable. The gannets seem to keep to themselves. Anyway, although I got some good postures of them coming straight at us and twisting, diving etc. not one of my many was focused properly. Fortunately when I went out the back to carry out some experiments on focusing a tui flew in and I did better with tripod and release cable. See its tongue that can go into the slenderest of flower tubes and extract nectar.

An extra of the wide open spaces which I do better at.
