Kookaburra

As I went into the garden to start on my job list for the day I noticed this gorgeous boy/girl on the tree branch. I headed back in for my camera telling myself he'll probably be gone by the time I came back out (as is so often the case), but he wasn't. He allowed me to take loads of photos and, in this moment, turned his head directly towards me. A short time later he must have spied a tasty morsel on the ground below as he suddenly swooped to grab something and then took off.
