Hanging up to dry

I'd made up my mind that I needed to spend time in the garden today - mainly cutting back the by now rather straggly stuff. And once you start it's hard to stop. So most of this lovely summery day has been spent digging, dividing, replanting, weeding, revealing forgotten plants that have been swamped by the huge ones. Unsurprisingly there are no drought-tolerant plants in this garden so despite the wet summer things have done pretty well. And there's still quite a bit of colour to enjoy further into the autumn.

In the process of all of the above it felt like time to harvest the garlic crop. As usual it was planted much later than it should have been and it was only leftovers from the kitchen but there are some actual cloves here and the garden hut smells very pleasing.
