okay - i admit it - not the perfect 'hummingbird' shot by a photographer - however i never claimed to be perfect - so that should cover things, right? - thing is, when i get the rare opportunity to actually see them skimming through the air by - my house, i get so excited i just can't stand it - i had something entirely different planned when this little one - came buzzing into view - and half startled i said to miss mollie-boo - 'oh my gosh, that's a hummer!'

realizing i needed to at least attempt to get a shot - even though the lighting was really poor - i did try - of course you see what happened - instead of getting a clear picture i ended up with more of a silhouette - i decided to just go with it - thinking it looked sort of neat against the pale blue sky - plus it's a hummer after all - doesn't anything with a hummer in it - ensure it's going to be...
