Very God Boy

CyclopsJnr went for another long day (until 3pm) at Nursery today.  He’s much better from his cold, but still has a nasty cough.  He had a good day at nursery, and seems to have acquired a sticker for being a good boy.

“Why did you get that sticker?”

“I a good boy”.

“Did everyone get one?” (cynical dad)

“No some of my friends naughty didn’t get sticker”.

“What did you do that was good?”

<garbled message concerning not making a mess and tidying up?>

Later he and Cyclops went to the shops to pick up a few things.  CyclopsJnr was very, very good.  In Thorntons he asked the lady very nicely if he could try on of the chocolate smiles on the counter (with a little prompting from dad).  The lady offered him the bowl and he took one, and she encouraged him to take another.  He ate the first one and looked at the second.  He told me earnestly “It got a smile daddy, like me because I happy because I got chocolate”.  Transaction completed, we started to leave but the lady behind the counter thought he was so cute that she followed us to the door and gave him another couple of chocolate smiles.  This boy will go far.

When we got home, he helped his dad put up some new hooks to hang his coat on, and then Mum arrived home.

As she got out of the taxi, he ran down the drive shouting “mummy” with delight, and gave her a huge cuddle.  Then we had a lovely time singing happy birthday to her, and CyclopsJnr was allowed to help her tear the paper on one or two of her presents.

Given that he has a nasty cough and didn’t have a nap (so was clearly exhausted) he could have been difficult, but instead he was the lovliest, nicest, best behaved and kindest boy anyone could ask for.  His parents are very proud of him.
