treasure trove...

..aka Salvation Armani and while their selection of 1980s gear for junior's musical theatre solo was sadly lacking how COOL are these!

The J.W. Foster 'Deluxe' encapsulate the story of Reebok...yes Reebok!
In OTB condition (except without the box) with shoe horns, toe tucked tissue and label in tact.
Joseph William Foster Snr, born and bred in Bolton, England was a runner and pioneer of the running shoe when he decided to add six hand made spikes through the leather soles of his running shoes (extra).
JW Foster and Sons incorporated in 1895 and the shoes were so popular they were the shoe of choice for the 1924 British Olympic team (and all this before team sponsorship and product placement).

Grandsons JFW jnr and Jeff...in a circuitous route...ended up  registering the name 'Reebok' the anglicized version of 'Rhebok' the grey rhebok an African antelope in 1958.
As grey and sleek as the rhebok itself the 'J.W Foster Deluxe' is a 'modern interpretation of 'Old Joe's' first running spike.'

A bargain at $15.00! and such a cool piece of running history.
