Bedraggled butterfly

The butterflies have done so well to survive the rains and wind this week.
I was walking past our fence just now and noticed that the ivy was covered in thousands of bees, wasps, flies and a few butterflies, all fighting over the pollen on the ivy. I am so glad that we didn't cut the ivy back last week as it has proved to be a really important source of pollen for all these beautiful insects.
I captured this bedraggled butterfly on my E.Zoom lens and am rather surprised that the details are quite clear.
