Diary of an Edinburgher

Safari Day... er... One!

I think it took Rex quite a few bangs on the door this morning at 5.20 to waken us up! But half an hour and a coffee later, we were off on a morning safari. It's still quite cold in the mornings, but jackets, hats, and blankets were sufficient to ward off the chills. The first problem was actually getting into the vehicle. I walked around it, looking for a door. There is no door. But TJ our lovely driver, produced a wee step for me.

We saw loads of animals, mainly different species of antelope. We also saw zebras, wildebeest, monkeys, giraffes and elephants. And a 'flying banana' bird. The big boys - the cheetahs or the pride of lions - were too shy this morning.

At one point, we were hurtling along at high speed, to get to the elephants - what fun that was! We had plenty of 'safari massages' as TJ calls the bumps.

We've just had lunch and getting ready for the evening drive, complete with a stop for G&Ts, apparently. But I'll post this now, as the evenings are rather busy, in full on holiday mode.

I have back blipped the last few days' drama. Do not bother reading if you're of nervous disposition, like to be organised, can't stand incompetence or are worried about senility.
