Happiness is ...

... for Dad, Bellringing. He loves both the science and art of change Bellringing and it is one of his biggest losses since he moved south to Devon. Here the emphasis is very much on call changes; the order in which the bells ring is called out and the bells will generally ring that new order for at least a few blows. Change bellringing involves learning what are known as 'methods' where the order will alter with every blow - very melodic and beautiful. Anyway, on our way south we stopped by to see a couple of his old friends and they all indulged in a spot of handbell ringing which was wonderful to listen to. And great to catch up and chat (and eat delicious cake!).
Then we hit the M5 - and 4 hrs later reached our destination. Trying to go to the SW on a Fri evening was just asking for it I suppose.
The exciting weather forecast has arrived later than expected; drumming rain showers all evening.
