Juice it up!

Woke up this morning at about 5 am in The Solent on board the ferry from France. As ever the Brittany Ferries staff were great and let is off before the cars so we were out on the streets of Portsmouth just after 6 am trying to navigate our way to the train station to get home. While France may not have the best cycling provision in Europe it is a generation a head of the UK, where cycle lanes stop and start for no go reason, don't go anywhere useful and seem to be made of broken glass, left over paint, holes and drains...

Three trains later we made it home. Again compared with French trains the British trains are a joke: absurd cycling provision or no provision, stupid arbitrary designs by people who have never seen a bicycle and petty rules that make everyone's life a misery...

After unloading and starting the washing machine we went over to Whitchurch to have a look at their community orchard and watch their community juicing. Today's blip is the chopper (the yellow job on the right) and the press (the orange ended stainless steel drum on the left). We bumped into an old friend and had a good chat to their team and a look round.

After a brief lunch my better half did some work on our community orchard in between the heavy showers while I drew up the shopping list and did a few post holiday tasks at home. We then did a frighteningly expensive shopping run (stuff is so much more expensive in the UK than France) and now it's time for a bath before dinner!
