Labels

I find having names for pieces of furniture to be.. Odd. Names are labels. They identify things. In the case of this piece, I went to aisle 28, row 16 and there he was Ranarp. I took him home. Too often we identify people through labels. Oh him, he's odd. See her, she's loud. Them, don't trust them.... All Germans... Dutch people do.... Labels often stick. Bad labels particularly last and often perpetuate stereotypes. Resist simplistic labelling of people. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Act graciously towards them. It costs nothing and can deliver huge benefits for others.
