BBC Proms in Hyde Park

A wonderful event!

We picked up Louise from Chippenham and took the M4 to Slough where we caught the train into Paddington. Henry happened to be in London so we met him, Florence and Katy (niece) for lunch and then had a wander around Kensington Gardens. H & K had other plans so we parted company.

As we queued to go in (loads of security) the heavens opened but it only lasted a short while.

The music kicked off with Texas. Charlene performs with such joy! I knew every Gilbert O'Sullivan song and he was one of my high lights but nothing could beat Ray Davies! He has written some fantastic tunes and I welled up a couple of times. The Crouch End choir were superb as backing singers and I loved Elaine Paige and Michael Ball too.

Home by 1pm and we were greeted by a massive hedgehog on the drive!
