Bolete spores

More experiments with spore prints - these are from one of the boletes. Unlike the gilled fungi the undersurface of the cap has pores which are the openings of the tightly packed tubes that run up into the cap and hold the spores. The spore print pattern is quite different to that of gilled fungi. I've found it more difficult to get a good print from these mainly because lots of moisture seems to run out of the pores so in some places the spores get moved around and coagulate. More experimenting required I think.
