Waves of rain

I have never noticed this effect before: heavy rain was running down the road in a neat succession of little waves.  

I was out with my Monday walking group. (Last week when posting this.) We abandoned the planned walk higher up the glen, and took a shortened amble on the roads at Kilry. The extra photo gives fair impression of the day.
