Life in a Northern Town

Back Blip - City Walls

We tok the ferry across to Lokrum, the island just off Dubrovnik. The ferry was crowded and hot, but when we disembarked everybody dispersed and so the island itself was incredibly peaceful.

We scouted out a few GOT locations, sat on the iron throne (see extras) and attempted to swim in the salt lake but were thwarted by the stones hurting our feet.  Back in Dubrovnik we had crepes for lunch, then spent the afternoon swimming at the hotel, followed by a trip round the bay being dragged behind a speedboat on an inflatable!

Then we took the cable car to the top of Mount Srd, and admired the views back down to the town - see extras.

After dinner I walked around the walls again, the light was lovely only the red roofs, it was quiet and the temperature almost bearable.

It is a gorgeous city, very busy in the day if there's  a cruise ship in the harbour, but lovely places always are popular.  It was unusually hot so we we told, but even normal summer temperatures are pretty hot - I was glad we had a pool to cool off in.
