Oh dear, this looked very much less blurry on my phone!

The kids were heading off bouldering today, so an early start for them.  I popped round to last night's hosts to swap two sleepy children for a sharp knife, then home to chop half the world for Mr B (lunch chef, but his canoe injury interferes with chopping) and pack the other half for our journey home.

Later, lunch, with all our guests helping by taking over all pouring duties - hurrah!  Here Lesley is getting in on the act and providing me with some rather delicious red.

Off to Gatwick then with the kids and more luggage than I have travelled with in many a year.  The flight boarded on time - hurrah; but the rain was pouring down so - despite trying to wait undercover until everyone else was on - we got soaked.  Didn't help that we were in the back row and continued to get soaked during the 20 minutes they kept the door open.  Never seen puddles on the floor of a plane before (well, apart from that thing with CarbBoy that we don't talk about).

Turns out, the tea urn (water system?) was leaking, so we had to sit on the tarmac for 2 hours before we finally got underway.  Very tedious - especially given we were all shivering with cold and really wanted a hot drink.  But the kids were their usual accommodating selves, and it was fine really.

Home about midnight.
