Kings Arms Pub, Melrose

What does one do in the Scotland Borders? There are many walking paths to choose from. The one we chose had a confusing early direction that immediately got us lost. We asked a guy mowing along the banks of the River Tweed for directions. He was a real life gillie, working for the Duke of Northumberland, owner of much of the land here in St Boswell. He gave us a ride in his Range Rover to the trail's start. After that we enjoyed a beautiful walk on a gorgeous day. All told we walked around 7 miles. The image of the gillie's boots was from a shop window in St Boswells will be posted when the internet is better.
