Follow the stream

Time to collect Rols from the hospital with his leg in full plaster.

Now the adventure starts - getting us home with two suitcases, two sets of skis and sticks and boots, and Rols in a plastercast without any crutches. No money in our wallets and the health services not prepared to give any. We are talking pre EU times!

So at least one train change at Villach before the 12 hour+ journey to Frankfurt, where my uncle a doctor was waiting to meet us, armed with a pair of crutches. We then waved our farewells and made the next train to the Hoek von Holland and the overnight ferry to Harwich where our respective parents were waiting.

Quite an adventurous if not the happiest of holidays.
