Zephirine Drouhin

It's a nasty cold and windy September day, but in the garden our rose Zephrine Drouhin still looks gorgeous.

It has a another claim to fame in that it had a starring role in an Agatha Christie Poirot mystery "Sad Cypress", where a cast member states that she pricked her finger on one of the thorns.

The dialogue goes:

- It was a climbing rose - Zephyrine Drouhin. It bears a sweetly scented pink flower. It has no thorns.
- It would be impossible to prick oneself on a rose tree of this description?
- -It would be quite impossible. It is a thornless tree."
