CannyScot's Day

Ben Lomond

A dull day in the west

Our last morning of our break and we drove up to Duck Bay on the west coast of the Loch (see Map). The bay affords wonderful views of Ben Lomond, which is a Munro and stands at 3,196 feet and is the most southern of all the Munros. It is famous for its 'head and shoulders' appearance, clearly seen from thos vantage point. Sadly, the weather was not as clear as we would have liked. We did have some recompence, since we had tea and coffee in the nearby Duck Bay Hotel, which is a fabulous place. It is costly to stay there, but the tea and coffee cost no more than any ordinary Coffee shop. Highly recommended.

Our drive home to Dundee in the east brought lovely sunshine, which made the drive very pleasant.

For a wee treat you may like to listen to 'By yon bonnie banks' here.
