The Panopticon

Plenty of places to visit during Glasgow's Open Doors week. The Panopticon Music Hall in Glasgow is the world's oldest surviving music hall. Many ancient props and artefacts are on display. The building which closed in 1938 is currently being conserved by a trust who regularly perform traditional shows in the auditorium.

Anyone is welcome to try one of the two pianolas (player pianos). I gave it a go but couldn't get my feet to pump the bellows quickly enough. This young chap had a go and very quickly had the perforated paper roll spinning round and although he had his hands on the keys they didn't play a note.
