R&R on The Snake River

We continued our USA trip.... with some R&R in the lovely town of Jackson Hole in Wyoming.... a bright sunny morning seemed perfect to go rafting down the Snake River....

Suitably wearing life jackets, 11 of us climbed into our large blue inflatable raft....to go down the fast flowing, but shallow in places, river. The Essential Man was our oarsman...... Adam!
Not only could he control and steer the boat ... he was knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife of the river.... as well as environmental issues in Wyoming .. pointing out osprey hunting for lunch, and bald headed eagles sitting up in the trees
..... and he looked after us!....
an hour into the trip.... storm clouds built up.... rain, thunder and lightning added to the excitement of the river!
on board the raft, there were strong waterproof capes with hoods, which were quickly distributed..... as the temperature plummeted.....
the storm passed ..... the white caps of the waves calmed.... and he produced a picnic from a cool box stored beside his place at the stern of the boat!
A great way to spend a Wednesday morning!!
