Panda keepers

This photograph is from the World Press Photo Exhibition which I saw at the Scottish Parliament, and I just loved it. As you might expect, many of the photos were hard to look at, so it was good to find some light relief. The photo was one of a series taken by Ami Vitali for National Geographic and it shows panda keepers listening for radio signals from a collared panda in training to be released into the wild. And it was on an optimistic theme - due to China's conservation efforts, pandas are no longer classed as endagered (they are now classed as "vulnerable").
