Nettle Tap

The U3A group that I belong to, met at Kinghorn Loch to concentrate on learning the macro setting on our cameras.

This one shows a Nettle Tap Moth (Anthophila fabriciana) on a late-flowering Burnet Rose (Rosa pimpinellifolia). Also present on a petal is a tiny parasitic wasp, possibly a gall wasp.

Anyone needing a tip on this feature should choose the macro setting  (flower symbol), set the lens to its widest angle and get in close.

Aperture, shutterspeed and ISO will have their usual effects.
