Tel's Blips

Hurst Castle

On the second day of our Creative Photography workshop with Ted Leeming and Morag Paterson we took the ferry from Milford Haven to Hurst Castle which sits on a shingle spit guarding the 3/4 mile channel between the mainland and the Isle of Wight.
Dodging the showers and hiding from the strong winds we spent the day trying various techniques on the landscape ,waves and abstracts.
I was drawn to this building and could have spent all afternoon exploring the textures and details but the weather closed in with strong wind and rain  which made photography difficult. In the pond at bottom left I thought I spotted a sinister face, shown in the extras.
The return trip on the ferry was rather exciting as the sea had chopped up considerably made more interesting when the ferryman happened to say he had not known it so bad. I quite enjoyed the trip although some fellow travellers were not quite so keen.
We were quite pleased to reach dry land at the end of a fascinating workshop. Lots of processing now to do.
