A Day of Two halves

Sunshine this morning - torrential at times this afternoon.

After Jamie headed off to school I made the best of the morning on the allotment.  Last of the King Edwards lifted and stored, weeding and came back with a butternut squash, a big bunch of carrots and a couple of heads of sweetcorn.  Happy with that.  The sunshine hung on long enough for me to do an hour in the garden before a sudden darkening heralded the heavy rain.  Time for a late lunch.

Indoor chores this afternoon.  Jamie managed an extra hour at school today.  A bit more tired tonight but well done him.  Here comes the weekend!

The alpine beds are looking autumnal now, more seed heads than flowers.  Enter stage left, Crocus niveus to brighten things up a bit.
